ARCHITECTURAL ELEGANCE REDEFINED
Inspired by the harmonious geometry of the Granvelle Palace in Besançon, the Granvelle Renaissance revisits the elegance of classical proportions through a more refined 37.5mm architecture.
Its compact dimensions reveal a subtly redesigned case, a newly sculpted bezel and lugs, an intricate multi-level dial inspired by the palace’s Renaissance roof motifs, and a newly tapered leather strap with a signature buckle for enhanced elegance and comfort.
Powered by our manufacture micro-rotor small seconds caliber CMM.29, the Granvelle Renaissance combines French architectural heritage with contemporary haute horlogerie refinement.
THE ART OF BALANCED DIMENSIONS
Reinterpreted in a refined 37.5mm format, the Granvelle Renaissance achieves a remarkably balanced presence on the wrist.
Thanks to its distinctive cushion-shaped architecture and expansive dial opening, the Granvelle Renaissance wears noticeably larger than its 37.5mm diameter suggests. Combined with its balanced 46.30mm lug-to-lug dimensions, the watch offers a wrist presence comparable to a traditional 39mm round watch while providing superior comfort, elegance and versatility.
The result is a perfectly proportioned silhouette that naturally adapts to all wrists without compromising the architectural identity of the original Granvelle.
A DIAL INSPIRED BY RENAISSANCE ARCHITECTURE
The newly redesigned dial features a sophisticated four-level construction that creates exceptional depth and interplay with light.
At its center, an intricate motif draws direct inspiration from the geometric roof patterns of the Granvelle Palace, echoing the symmetry and ornamentation of Renaissance architecture.
The contrasting finishes between the central medallion, hour track, small seconds counter and external bezel create a rich architectural composition that evolves continuously depending on the viewing angle.
Applied faceted indexes and polished hands filled with Super-LumiNova BGW9 further enhance legibility while preserving the dial’s refined aesthetic balance.
SLIM DESIGN. MECHANICAL PRECISION.
Thanks to its ultra-thin micro-rotor movement, the Granvelle Renaissance benefits from a remarkably slim case profile (8.50mm) that enhances both comfort and elegance. By integrating the oscillating weight within the movement’s architecture, the design achieves a sleek silhouette , resulting in a watch that wears as refined as it looks while ensuring remarkable mechanical precision and offering 70 hours of power reserve.
IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS
Every detail of the Granvelle Renaissance has been carefully reworked to reinforce its refined architectural identity, including the crown.
Exclusively redesigned for the collection, the distinctive cushion-shaped crown echoes the geometry of the case while offering a rare alternative to the traditional round crown design found on most watches. Its embossed YEMA signature, polished and sandblasted finishes, and carefully balanced proportions create a subtle interplay of texture, light and depth.
Despite its original sculptural form, the crown remains highly ergonomic and ensures smooth, comfortable winding and adjustment in everyday use.
MECHANICAL ART IN MOTION
Visible through the sapphire caseback, the Manufacture Caliber CMM.29 is derived from YEMA’s proprietary micro-rotor architecture and specifically adapted to incorporate an elegant small seconds complication.
The caliber’s rhodium-plated bridges are galvanised then decorated with a Côtes de Genève sunray pattern giving it a dynamic and polished look. The interplay of light as the movement rotates, creates an elegant shimmering effect, making it appear as though the surface is constantly shifting.
A SYMBOL OF FRENCH HOROLOGICAL ARTISTRY
The Granvelle Renaissance cushion-shaped case draws inspiration from the arches of Granvelle Palace in Besançon, and introduces subtle yet substantial refinements to the case finishing.
The bezel now features a refined sunray-brushed finish that emphasizes the sculptural geometry of the case, while the redesigned lugs incorporate polished and vertically brushed surfaces that visually elongate the silhouette and enhance the interplay between light, texture and reflection.
The signature lateral fluting extending across the entire carrure and between the lugs reinforces the watch’s architectural character while showcasing YEMA’s attention to detail.
The case design offers a comfortable wrist presence while remaining discreetly sophisticated.
INSPIRED BY THE GRANVELLE PALACE
The Granvelle Palace is a Renaissance palace from the 16th century located in Besançon, the capital of the French watchmaking region where YEMA’s workshops are located.
The Granvelle Palace houses the Museum of Time, which presents the history of Besançon, with a focus on the many moments when the history of the French capital of watchmaking intersects with that of time measurement, from the arrival of Laurent Mégevand and the Swiss watchmakers to the creation of the first chronometry laboratories and the School of Watchmaking.
Inspired by the harmonious proportions and architectural refinement of the Palace Granvelle, the Granvelle Renaissance translates this Renaissance heritage into a contemporary watchmaking expression defined by symmetry, depth and sculptural detail.
SUPER-LUMINOVA BGW9 GRADE A
The hands and hour markers are meticulously coated with Super-LumiNova BGW9 Grade A, ensuring the Granvelle remains perfectly legible even in total darkness.
PREMIUM TAPERED LEATHER STRAP WITH SIGNATURE BUCKLE
The Granvelle Renaissance is paired with a newly developed leather strap specifically designed to complement its refined proportions and architectural silhouette.
Tapering elegantly from 18mm at the lugs to 14mm at the buckle, the new strap enhances wrist comfort while reinforcing the watch’s dress-oriented profile. Its supple textured leather construction and refined stitching contribute to the collection’s elevated level of finishing.
The collection also introduces a newly designed stainless steel pin buckle exclusively developed for the Granvelle Renaissance. Echoing the cushion-shaped geometry of the case and crown, its faceted architectural form combines vertically brushed and polished surfaces for a refined interplay of light and texture.
Precisely engineered for enhanced comfort and balance on the wrist, the buckle reinforces the distinctive visual identity of the Granvelle Renaissance down to the smallest detail.
